Big defeat of opposition in Rajya Sabha
Big defeat of opposition in Rajya Sabha has sent message of maturity of Modi government to the world - Arvind Sisodia
Rajya Sabha also approved the Delhi Services Bill on Monday. Voting took place after a long discussion on the bill for about 8 hours. There were 131 votes in favor while 102 votes in opposition. This bill was passed by the Modi government and the opposition alliance I.N.D.I.A. There was a nose to nose fight between. The bill has already got the approval of the Lok Sabha. Now with the approval of the President, it will take the form of law. After this law, the transfer-posting of officers in Delhi will be done by the lieutenant governor.
In the bill regarding the rights of the governments in the Delhi Legislative Assembly, the coalition formed the latest joint opposition, had to face defeat in the Rajya Sabha as well. The opposition is going to face a crushing defeat even on the unnecessary no-confidence motion brought against the government. The defeat of the opposition in both the Houses within a short span of time will dent the image of the new alliance in the country. It is also an indication of crack in the internal unity in the opposition and also a message of unacceptability of the country.
The Congress alliance has kept a new name to cover up its old criticism activities and that too to confuse. From this it is decided that there is nothing in the alliance. They want to garner votes by spreading confusion. With the big defeat of the opposition in the Rajya Sabha, the message of maturity of the Modi government has gone to the world.
The Legislative Assembly in Delhi was established in 1951 during the Congress and was dissolved in 1956. Because Delhi is the capital of India, it is the headquarters of the central government. Therefore even then it was thought that the two centers of power should not be at least in the National Capital Region, this sends a wrong message to the ambassadors of foreign countries residing in the Indian capital Delhi and many other agencies. The same thing remained that Pt. Jawaharlal Nehru also abolished the assembly from Delhi.
Even today, I believe that the central capital of the country should be a Union Territory, it should not have a Legislative Assembly. Arvind Kejriwal keeps on jumping a lot everyday except nuisance he has no work, he forgets that seven Lok Sabha MPs are also elected from Delhi and they are elected by the people of Delhi only. The people of Delhi have given all the seven MPs to the BJP as long as Kejriwal was the Chief Minister. AAP does not have monopoly over Delhi.
Then Delhi, which is the capital of the country, needs a very disciplined assembly which can also take care of the country's dignity and respect. My personal belief is that Arvind Kejriwal has come forward in his social political activities by receiving donations from American , he is the product of these donors and follows their agenda. It is not right for any political party to follow any foreign method.
The Government of India should see whether there is any public interest in keeping the Legislative Assembly in Delhi, if not, there is no need for the Legislative Assembly in Delhi. Municipal Corporation can also do this work. She used to do it before also.
